Erika Larenas

Erika Larenas is an international student from Ecuador, currently enrolled in the Nursing program at Miami Dade College. Her curiosity about the complexities of the human body, which began during her childhood, inspired her to pursue a career in healthcare. Erika’s long-term goal is to become a Nurse Practitioner one day. With empathy and dedication, she aims to make a positive impact on the lives of others, including her loved ones.

Her academic journey is marked by high achievements, which have opened new doors and opportunities far from home. Despite the challenges of starting a new life in another country, she remains motivated and resilient. Erika believes in the power of education, stating, “It is important to work hard and continue persevering while you are young to have a successful life in the future.” Outside of her academic life, she enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures to broaden her mindset and meet new people.

Family and friends are the most important part of Erika’s life. She cherishes spending quality time with them and values each moment. After losing a loved one to cancer, she plans to support and make an impact on cancer organizations in the future.
